What is a Goodyear welt sole boot?

The Goodyear welt is used in the design and production of R.M William's dress boots. There is a layer of cork underneath the foot for extra comfort and insulation against extreme temperatures. The welt strip around the upper is stitched to the upper using thread dipped in hot wax for extra durability and longevity.
What is a Screwed Sole Boot?

R.M Williams is one of the only boot makes still to use this technique. The sole is attached using brass screws, great for work boots, it makes the style durable and secure. There is a fuller cushion between the insole and the sole for extra comfort.
Is it true that R.M William's boots are made from a single piece of leather?

"One Boot, One Piece of Leather"- R.M Williams hand craft their boots using just one piece of leather. This unique design means that the boot is extremely comfortable and less likely to rub as there is only one seam along the back of the boot.

R.M Williams are hand crafted in Australia by top leather artisans. The boots also have lots of unique design features including-
- Pull on Woven tags at the front and bag which have been stitched by hand firmly between the leather upper and lining. These make the boot particularly easy to get on and off.
- The boot is fully leather lined making it breathable and comfortable.
- There is a forged steel shank which maintains the original shape of the boot and offers good arch support.
- A stiffener at the toe is made from thermoplastic, this is designed to protect the foot and retain the shape of the boot.
- The heel is made using stacked leather which does not swell when inserted in water and is firmly attached to the sole to make the style long lasting.
- Elastic gussets are double stitched for extra strength
- Dynamic Flex styles have removable insoles which have a comfortable heel cradle which hug and support the foot.
- The sole on Dynamic Flex styles are made from a mix of leather and rubber for extra flexibility and durability.

This is a design concept from R.M Williams, a sole unit is made unsing a unique mix of leather and rubber for an extra soft feeling underfoot. The special sole unit is also beneficial because it is hard wearing and flexible.
Dynamic Flex boots are Airport friendly as they have a fibreglass shank rather than a steel one. the boots from this range also have a removable insole which hugs and supports the foot inside the boot.
What is Oilskin?

This is a waxed, lightweight and water resistant material that R.M William's use to produce their jackets.

Dryskin is just like Oilskin as it is water resistant and lightweight but it is also washable.
